Rutu Menstrual Cloth Pad
Ashay Social Group has been working for a multitude of environmental protection projects starting from October 2015. Today, we are very happy to share details on the special project ’RUTU Cloth Pads’ which is very close to our heart. Right from its inception in November 2017, RUTU Cloth pads have been accepted as an effective sustainable menstruation option. The biggest difference in this project lies in its DIY ability, wherein you can make your own Cloth Pad and use it for yourself.
About RUTU Cloth Pad
These pads are made from cotton material, with a preventive layer of
PUL material in it. Cotton is an eco-friendly option and safe to
use. It helps with air circulation which is less likely with the
currently available, plastic-based sanitary pads.
The inner preventive lining of PUL(Polyurethane Laminate) is
waterproof, making it ideal for its use in cloth pads. Finally,
these are reusable options, where a set of 5-6 cloth pads can be
used for a long duration of 4-5 yrs.
Maintenance of Cloth Pads
Washing these cloth pads is a simple task. After use, you have to
soak it in cold water for 20-25 mins. Post this, ensure complete
draining of the water, and wash it with the mild soap or
detergent.
The inner preventive lining of PUL(Polyurethane Laminate) is
waterproof, making it ideal for its use in cloth pads. Finally,
these are reusable options, where a set of 5-6 cloth pads can be
used for a long duration of 4-5 yrs.
One of the biggest advantages of this reusable option is that it's
pocket-friendly, as we don't end up spending money every
month.
You have to always dry it in the sunlight so that all inner layers
get dried up properly.
Coldwater doesn't allow the stains to get hard, therefore washing in
cold water is highly recommended.
Finally, Cotton cloth pads are an eco-friendly option, which means
we don't end up hurting our mother nature through plastic
overuse.
